Fantastic time picking strawberries! It's quite dangerous when you're given permission to eat as much as you want while you pick...I ate a lot. Can't wait to use these berries.
The usual place that we pick has not opened. We're hopeful that it was just the strawberry crop that didn't turn out, because that's where we also pick raspberries and there aren't as many raspberry places. This was an extra half our drive to the west, but well worth it. It could be that it's just a great year for berries, but these are the best I've picked. They're Kent berries--something to keep in mind when looking for my own plants in the years to come.
After picking we went to lunch trying out a local place that was worth the try and then headed up the road to check out some antique locations.
