Summer Day Update

What's been going on in the garden?  Lots of watering and some new seeds sprouting.  It amazes me that things can grow and flower in this heat.  Mainly what's been going on is trying to stay cool but functional.  Other parts of the country are experiencing record heat.  It's been beyond hot here, but nothing out of the average range for this time of year...and it's dryer than ever.  As I type it's 107*.  Smoke from the fires to the north and then west are blowing in to the valley and staying, heavy and brown.  Eager for the summer thunderstorms to come and hopefully drop some cold rain in the months to come.  Eating a lot of summer squash--but the harvest is almost done, and there will be corn by the end of the month.
